A small brass travelling monocular microscope with integral tripod stand and tweezers, contained in original leather case. Together with a small oak case containing 10 20th Century specimen slides. The slides with the monogram of Sir Philip Brocklehurst who gifted them to Bob Bell, a biologist with The British Antarctic Survey Team during the 1970s. Both items are believed to have been on the Nimrod during the 1907 expedition. Also with The Shackleton Voyages by Roland Huntford, London 2002, 288pp. Shackleton at South Georgia by Robert Burton and Stephen Venables, signed by the latter and a 2011 Aurora Expeditions booklet.
