Italian-French painter Angelo Asti was born in Castelnuovo Scrivia, Italy, on September 16, 1847, and passed away in Paris, France, on October 7, 1903. He is renowned for his exquisite paintings of graceful women who are frequently portrayed in romantic and idealized poses. Asti first pursued his education at Milan, Italy's Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Later, he relocated to Paris, the heart of the artistic world at the time, where he made a name for himself as a renowned painter. Asti's paintings were highly prized by collectors and customers because of his talent for capturing the elegance and beauty of his female subjects. His aesthetic can be characterized as academic, drawing inspiration from Neoclassical and Rococo styles. The idealized beauty of Asti's subjects was frequently displayed in his portraits, which also managed to capture their charm, sensuality, and serenity. His subjects were frequently presented in pleasant settings, surrounded by flowers or in lush landscapes, which emphasized the romantic appeal of his paintings. Throughout his career, Angelo Asti participated in prestigious exhibitions, such as the Paris Salon, where he displayed his artwork and won praise from critics. Additionally, his works were produced in a variety of media, including prints and postcards, which increased their appeal. The Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome are two museums and private collections that currently house works by Angelo Asti.
