1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS64 PCGS. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, in their book Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins, 1795-1933, in their writeup of the 1907 High Relief, write: "Aside from the handful of coins that show the Ultra High Relief, these represent the closest obtainable coin to Augustus Saint-Gaudens's conception of the design....Teddy Roosevelt demanded a change in our national coinage, and sought out one of the most talented artists of that era, Augustus Saint-Gaudens...(who)...rendered this magnificent design.
The wire rim shows around most of both sides of this radiantly lustrous example, though that on the obverse is partially obscured by the holder. The high relief motifs are powerfully executed, displaying bold definition on the fingers of both hands and on the toes, and on the eagle's plumage. Both sides are adorned with beautiful peach-gold color, and just a couple of trivial obverse marks preclude a higher grade.
From The RNB Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
