Since the extremely rare Ultra High Relief pieces are out of the reach of all but a few collectors, the High Relief pieces are the only affordable souvenirs that approximate the designs as Augustus Saint-Gaudens intended them to be. The High Reliefs were struck in sufficient numbers for the advanced numismatist to secure an example, but worldwide demand for this ambitious and spectacular gold type is ceaseless, especially for attractive Mint State pieces such as the present coin.
