1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim MS60 ANACS. The Wire Rim variety was struck in December 1907, with an estimated production of 8,250 coins, out of the total High Relief mintage of 11,250 pieces. The remaining 3,000 coins were the Flat Rim variety. This is a pleasing greenish-gold example with sharp design elements and excellent eye appeal for the grade. The high wire rim is visible around nearly the entire circumference on both sides. The surfaces have a few minor scrapes and scuffs, not unusual for these coins. It is sharply struck, however, and is a highly desirable example of the original Saint-Gaudens design, before Charles Barber got his hands on this project.
From The Luke Fay Collection.
