<B>1907 $20 High Relief, Wire Rim AU58 NGC.</B></I> The business strike mintage of this famous issue is reported as 12,367 pieces, according to the <I>Guide Book of Double Eagle Gold Coins</B></I>, wherein it is also estimated that two-thirds of that number were produced with a wire rim. Author Dave Bowers does not regard that feature to be particularly significant, from a numismatic standpoint, and does not recommend that collectors seek to obtain examples of both the Wire Rim and Flat Rim varieties of this type. This lovely near-Mint specimen displays the usual crisp striking details, except for softness on some design elements along the lower obverse and reverse peripheries.
