<B>1907 $20 High Relief, Flat Rim MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Several times scarcer than its Wire Rim counterpart, the Flat Rim variant is not actually a conscious design change on the part of the Mint, but rather an answer to the problem of extruded metal on the earlier strikings of High Relief twenties. Based on the ratio of appearances between the two variants, it has been estimated that flat rims comprise fewer than 4,000 pieces of the total mintage of 11,250 high reliefs. A touch of reddish patina nicely accents this radiant yellow-gold example.
