1907<$2 1/2> MS67 NGC. Although not at all a rare issue, this shimmering little jewel is about as pristine an example of the Liberty quarter eagle type as one could ever want or find. The surfaces are virtually perfect, the strike is razor sharp, and the eye appeal is simply stunning. The green-gold luster is intense on both sides, giving this piece overall eye appeal that is simply stunning. For pedigree purposes, a single reddish alloy spot is seen in the denticles below the 7 of the date. There may be a few examples of this issue with higher technical grades (four to be exact, one MS68 at PCGS and three MS68s at NGC), but none is likely to surpass this little beauty in aesthetic appeal. Census: 75 in 67, 3 finer (2/06).
From The Sandia Mountain Collection.
