1907 $10 Wire Rim--Scratched--ANACS. MS60 Details. Judd-1901, formerly Judd-1774. The Wire Rim ten is generally acknowledged today to be a pattern issue. It was a first and unsuccessful effort to produce the Saint-Gaudens design for the new ten dollar gold coins. The coins were considered to have an indistinct appearance, and the design was soon changed to the even more unacceptable Rolled Rim variant. Finally, the Mint hit upon the regular issue that continued to the end of the design in 1933. This is a crisply struck coin with the usual bright yellow-gold surfaces. The singular distraction is a shallow scratch that extends from the obverse rim at 2:30 to almost 8 o'clock.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
