1907 $10 No Periods MS66 PCGS. Ex: Duckor Collecti
1907<$10> No Periods MS66 PCGS. Ex: Duckor Collection. The No Periods variety represented the third and final attempt by the Philadelphia Mint to create a ten dollar gold coin that was practical for commerce, easy to strike, and visually attractive. The first two attempts had failed for one reason or another; the Wire Rim would not stack properly, the Rolled Edge lacked the necessary detail on the devices. Revisions made to the coining dies included strengthening the minute details on the devices and retaining the recognizable Flat Rim for proper stacking. A subtle feature was incorporated to differentiate this variety from the previous two: the periods before E PLURIBUS UNUM were eliminated.
This is an exquisite Indian eagle that is also a significant condition rarity. From a technical standpoint, the surfaces are undeniably of Premium Gem quality. Both sides are silent on the subject of distracting abrasions, and the devices are as crisply detailed as one could expect for the issue. The eye appeal is even more pronounced, if such is possible. The luster is frosty in texture and the attractively colored, reddish-gold surfaces reveal variegated shades of pink and green-gold iridescence on each side. It is hard to imagine a more impressive 1907 No Motto eagle. Population: 54 in 66, 5 finer (3/06).
Indian Eagle Selections from the Dr. Steven L. Duckor Collection.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. This lot is being auctioned in conjunction with a live floor auction by Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers.
