1906 Unaltered 1st Issue Navy Luger, #6715, 9mm, 6'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, factory checkered walnut grips, and one matching numbered nickel-plated magazine with circle cut walnut base. Blank chamber, DWM marked toggle link, two-position rear sight, thumb safety lower position is marked ''Gesichert'' (unlike the altered model where ''Safety'' markings are in the upper position); ''(double crown)/M'' proofmarks to left side upper frame, Imperial Naval proofmarks to barrel, upper frame and forward toggle link; area below grip safety marked ''Gouv/Kiau'' over the number 27 on grip lug, which correlates to the unit markings of the III C Battalion from Cuxhaven that were assigned to the German colony in Tsing Tao, China. Condition is excellent showing evidence of some added rust blue, as there is only light thinning at muzzle as well as high edges. Straw parts may have been re-colored at one time but have thinned back to approx. 80% being somewhat more pronounced to thumb safety. Grips with light to moderate flattening and some evidence of re-checking; right panel is a little loose. Action is crisp, bore is bright. All visible matching numbers. Est.: $5,000-$7,500.
