<B>1906 Southwest Exposition (Pike's Peak Centennial), HK-335, PR64 Cameo NGC.</B></I> Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery (sighting) of the eponymous mountain by Lieutenant Zebulon Montgomery Pike during his Southwest expedition, 1806-07, following the Louisiana Purchase. This Gem proof was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and authorized by the 59th Congress. Designed by Charles Barber. The official mintage was a mere 250 specimens in silver. This so-called dollar should bring considerable attention from collectors of the series.
