This rare, original Set of Five Panoramic Prints depicts the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. This remarkable historic Set was published as a supplement to the San Francisco Examiner newspaper over the course of five weeks in July, 1906. The massive earthquake, which occurred on April 18, 1906, is still considered one of the greatest natural disasters in the history of the United States, and ranks second in number of lives lost in a natural disaster in the U.S. These Five Photographic Images were taken from the top of the Fairmount Hotel by Theodore Kytka, provide a 360-degree view of the destruction of surrounding areas of San Francisco.

Print No. 1 was published on July 8 and shows “The Stretch of Ruin From Nob Hill to Russian Hill.”

No. 2, from July 15, shows a “Panorama of the Ruins in the Valley That Sweeps From Russian Hill to Telegraph Hill.”

No. 3, July 22, shows a “Panorama of the Ruins From Telegraph Hill to the Base of Rincon Hill.”

No. 4, July 29, shows a “Panorama of the Fashionable Shopping and Retail Districts as the Camera Sees Them.”

No. 5, Aug. 5, shows a “Panorama of the Western Addition and the Mission.”

All Five Prints have prior folds, some minor fold and edge splits are repaired on the blank verso with archival tape, and this amazing set is in excellent overall condition for display. (Set of 5 prints)
