<B>1906-S $20 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> Despite a hefty mintage exceeding two million pieces, the 1906-S double eagle is a scarce issue at the Choice Uncirculated grade level, and is excessively rare any finer. In fact, only seven examples have been certified by NGC and PCGS at grades above MS64 (six Gems at both services combined, and one PCGS coin at MS66). This near-Gem has a pleasingly smooth and highly lustrous appearance. The overall striking details are bold, if a trifle weak on certain highpoints.
