1906 DWM Commercial Swiss Contract Rework Luger Pistol
This is an example of a 1906 DWM commercial Swiss Luger. These are a scarce variation with less than 1000 total made and are most often confused with standard Swiss military models. This variation can be easily distinguished by the five digit commercial style serial number and commercial proofmarks, along with the "Swiss Cross in a Sun Burst" on top of the chamber area. The front toggle has the standard "DWM" logo and the left side of the barrel extension has the standard Crown over "B" and "U" proofs. The underside of the barrel has the full serial number along with the "B", "U" and "G". The left side of the breechblock and toggle assembly have the single crown over "B and U" along with the last two digits of the serial number. The smaller components such as the trigger, takedown lever, side plate grip safety and back sides of both grip panels have the last two digits of the serial number. These lugers have the all rust blued metal finish with the straw colors on the trigger, takedown lever, magazine catch release, ejector and safety lever. This pistol is complete with an original Swiss contract wood base, nickel plated magazine with the small metal discs on each side.
