1906-D $20 MS65 PCGS. After serving as a United States Assay Office for more than 40 years, the Denver Mint commenced operations in 1906 and made an immediate impact in the production of both silver and gold coinage. The new facility struck more than half of the gold eagles produced this year and contributed over 20 percent of the gold double eagle production. Perhaps due in part to its first year status, thousands of Uncirculated twenties were saved for posterity and survivors through the MS63 grade tier are easily acquired. There is a noticeable drop-off at the Choice level and Gems such as this piece are actually quite scarce. The satiny surfaces exhibit a uniform reddish-golden tint and are remarkable void of abrasions. Population: 4 in 65, 0 finer (11/06).
From The Kutasi Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
