1906 Adrian "Cap" Anson Handwritten Signed Letter. Single handwritten page on both sides of this early baseball pioneer's Chicago City Clerk's Office letterhead concentrates on the topic of a potential real estate investment, though he does suddenly change gears near the end of the text to write, "I see by Adele's letter that you are a second base man. I expect to be looking for talent for next year..." All ink reveals terrific 10/10 boldness, with a few areas of very minor smudging. The closing signature, in the highly desirable "AC Anson" format, exhibits just the slightest brush of an errant hand, but to mention it at all is to overstate the effect. We must also point to a brief note at the top of the front page which reads, "Return brother's letter with advise [sic] how to answer. ACA." The initialed sentence could be considered a second autograph of sorts. Page exhibits original mailing folds, otherwise NRMT. A highly desirable ALS with baseball content from the former Career Hit King. LOA from PSA/DNA.
