<B>1906 $20 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The 1906 double eagle is an elusive issue from a mintage of just 69,500 coins, one of the lowest double eagle mintages in the 20th century. Dave Bowers comments: "Regarding the availability of Mint State coins, the 1906 is in a three-way tie, more or less, with the Philadelphia issues of 1902 and 1905." Even at the MS63 level, few examples have been certified and higher grade examples are nearly impossible to locate. This is a splendid and highly attractive example with excellent surfaces, sharp design features, and frosty yellow-gold luster.
