<B>1906 $2 1/2 PR65 PCGS.</B></I> A glittering, brightly mirrored specimen with appreciable contrast for an early 20th century proof striking. Bits of lilac and orange patina lightly accent each side. While it seems obvious that the population data for this rare issue of 160 proofs is bloated by resubmissions (over 160 pieces have been certified), the number of surviving specimens may also have been understated in the past. In any case, only a small percentage qualifies in Gem and finer grades and this solidly graded specimen is among the nicest we have offered.
