The event commemorates the anniversary of the opening of the vast Louisiana Territory and Oregon Country also known as the Northwest Expedition. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark are depicted on the two sides. Attendance from June 1 to October 14, 1905 was over 2,500,000 ad several medals were also made, along with an issue of federal stamps.
