1905 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS66 PCGS. Paul Gilkes, in an April 4, 1996 Coin World article, wrote that the design of the Lewis and Clark Exposition gold dollar, with the date 1904 or 1905, is one of the most unusual on U.S. commemorative coins, being the only U.S. coin issue to bear single portraits of two different individuals on the obverse and reverse of the same coin. Captain Meriwether Lewis' portrait appears on the obverse, while the reverse shows Captain William Clark. This Premium Gem specimen displays dazzling luster and rich yellow-gold patination. A well executed strike emboldens the design elements, and both sides have been well cared for. Population: 57 in 66, 2 finer (2/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
