<B>1904-S $5 MS63 NGC.</B></I> The 1904-S is a little-known rarity in Mint State. Only 97,000 pieces were struck, a remarkable reduction from the emission of 1,855,000 pieces produced in 1903. Apparently, the San Francisco Mint was too busy striking double eagles to do much of anything else in 1904.
