1904-S $20 MS65 PCGS. The 1904-S, coming from a relatively large mintage of over 5 million pieces, is the most available San Francisco double eagle of the Type Three design (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006). Several thousand examples have been certified through the MS64 grade level. There is a precipitous drop in MS65, and anything finer is virtually unobtainable. Greenish-gold patina rests on the highly lustrous surfaces of this Gem. Sharply struck throughout, and just a few minute grade-consistent marks.

Coin Engraver: James B.
