1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS65 PCGS. The sharp initial decline in value for the two Louisiana Purchase gold dollars made the Lewis and Clark commemoratives unattractive to many collectors, and most of the examples coined went to the melting pot. That both runs of gold dollars had the same promoter, noted 20th century numismatist Farran Zerbe, helped little. This highly lustrous yellow-gold Gem is a wonderful survivor. Both sides have crisp detail, and only a faint mark on the reverse portrait bars the way to an even higher grade.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
