<B>1904<$20> MS65 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> 1904 was an extraordinary year for prooflike double eagles; NGC has certified 341 prooflike pieces, more than any other year in the series (8/06). Examples that are as well-preserved as the present coin, however, are hard to find. This Gem is moderately mirrored, more strongly reflective on the reverse, with faint haze over the lavender-accented yellow-orange surfaces. A long, thin abrasion is noted on the reverse between the eagle and DOLLARS, but this has little impact on the overall eye appeal. An impressive display piece, perfect for those who want to go above and beyond for a 20th century type set. Census: 8 in 65 Prooflike, 2 finer (8/06).
