<B>1904<$10> MS65 NGC.</B></I> This is a sharply struck and highly attractive Gem with excellent surfaces. The mintage of this issue is surprisingly low with a mere 161,930 coins produced. There is no doubt that the biggest need in commerce at the time was the larger double eagle, which soared to a production of over 6 million coins, the second highest mintage of any gold piece of that denomination. This piece has deep honey-gold luster with greenish tendencies. The surfaces are pristine with few blemishes of any kind. Census: 2 in 65, 2 finer (9/06).
