1903 S$1 PR67 NGC.
1903 S$1 PR67 NGC. The 1903 is one of the more commonly encountered proof issues in the Morgan series. The mintage was not more than other issues (with 755 proofs struck), but a higher percentage of pieces were set aside and survive today in superior condition. This is a remarkably well preserved coin that has unfathomably deep mirrors in the fields. Of course, there is no contrast against the devices as the Mint apparently made a conscious effort not to show frost on the devices in 1901, 1902, and 1903. Close examination with a magnifier shows no obvious slide marks, contact marks, hairlines, or other post-striking impairments. The otherwise brilliant surfaces show just a bit of pale russet toning around the margins. Population: 21 in 67, 3 finer (11/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
