<B>1903 S$1 PR67 NGC.</B></I> Proof dollars from 1903 were struck in the no-contrast method of proofing that began in earnest at the Mint in 1902. Although many are deeply toned in rich multicolored shades and not advisable candidates to be dipped, less they end up with an unimpressive, "washed-out" appearance, a small quantity such as this piece combine brilliance with superior eye appeal and depth of mirrors. Both sides are bright, incredibly reflective pools of watery reflectivity that, even with the aid of a glass, fail to reveal even the tiniest hairline. One notices a slight amount of contrast between the fields and the devices on the reverse; just another added feature of this supremely preserved Morgan dollar. The population reports undoubtedly mask a number of resubmissions.
