<B>1903 S$1 PR64 ANACS.</B></I> David Bowers notes that 1903 proof Morgan dollars, like those of 1902 and 1904 "...have a partially polished portrait, rather than cameolike or frosty." That is pretty much the case for this near-Gem example, though there is a hint of cameo-like contrast, especially when viewed from a low angle. Whispers of light color are barely discernible around the margins, and sharp definition is seen on the devices, save for minor softness in the hair over Liberty's ear. A few grade-defining hairlines are only visible under high magnification.
