We attempt to take as deatiled an Image as possible of both the Obverse and Reverse of all coins and currency, While we try and accurately grade each coin, as coin grading is subjective, we encourage you to asses the pictures yourself and make a grading judgement yourself. We always 100% guarantee authenticity, but we do not guarantee any specific grade, nor do we guarantee that NGC or PCGS or any other grading company will agree to grade the coin. We strive for your repeat business and do everything we can to accurately photograph and describe the coin/currency.
Issued in 1903 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana purchase. This commemorative was issued with two obverses and one reverse. The two Obverses are the McKinley and the Jefferson. The McKinley is slightly scarcer than the Jefferson, per PCGS. When the mint was considering who to put on the commemorative. Jefferson was the obvious 1st choice as he was the president at the time of the purchase from France and the 2nd choice was McKinley, who had died in office a year prior and had been the one who originally signed the legislation for the minting of the coin. Coin World's Coin Values lists the McKinley in ms63 at $1100 and The Wholesale Greysheet lists the McKinley ms63 at $650. (note the Greysheet has the Jefferson as $750, and throughout the grades they show the Jefferson at a higher price, PCGS and coin World shows the opposite) Estimated Value $800
