1903 G$1 Louisiana Purchase/Jefferson MS67 NGC. Thomas Jefferson is one of the most frequently depicted individuals on American coinage. In 2007, the United States struck both the nickel that bears his portrait and the Presidential dollar honoring his two terms in office, and in 1994, a backdated commemorative described him as the "architect of democracy." In his first numismatic appearance, however, Jefferson went unnamed.
This spectacular representative of that issue, the 1903 Louisiana Purchase/Jefferson gold dollar, offers uncommonly strong luster and excellent detail. The centers are predominantly yellow-gold, while the margins show orange and canary accents. Carefully preserved and delightful. Neither NGC nor PCGS has graded a numerically finer example (10/07).
From The Fleur Wales-Baillie Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
