1903 G$1 Louisiana Purchase/Jefferson MS65 PCGS. The portrait of Thomas Jefferson facing left on the 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition gold dollar was, according to Coin World staff writer Paul Gilkes, in a March 27, 2006 column: " ... designed from an Indian Peace medal created by Mint assistant engraver John Reich ... (who) based his design on a bust of Jefferson by French sculptor Jean Antoine-Houdon." A beautiful mix of apricot-gold and light green patination enriches both sides of this radiantly lustrous Gem. These attributes are complemented by sharply struck devices that add to the coin's great overall eye appeal. A couple of faint obverse marks do not disturb.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
