A circa 1903 (Last Patent date Nov. 17, 1903), Thomas A. Edison, Inc. East Orange N.J. "Standard" Cylinder Phonograph serial number "S 394434". This early Standard B has the locking mandrel gate and a "C" reproducer with sapphire stylus (seats snugly). Original gear shroud and feedscrew cover are in excellent condition. It is a 2-minute machine for playing 2-minute wax cylinder records. The machine is in fine state with a nice quarter-sawn oak veneer box-jointed case and lid with wood and bale handle with original finish. The original "Edison" transfer is on case front. The stenciled decoration on the ebonized metal bedplate has no enamel damage, corrosion, rust, etc. The machine operates well, has an original 15" long black with brass end horn (some scratches, no dents, no rust) and original crank. Two Edison wax cylinder records included: Tenor Just Some One 9847, Mandolin & Guitar. An Autumn Evening 9014. Dimensions: 13.25"H x 13"W x 9.5"D. Other detailed photos available upon request.

In the event of a dispute between two or more bidders, the auctioneer, at his sole discretion may put the lot up for resale to the highest bidder. 5. A bidder is deemed to have accepted an item when making a bid. 6. The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time prior to the time of sale of such lot. 7. The auctioneer reserves the right not to accept any bid which is only a partial advance over the preceding bid. 8. The purchaser is not entitled to possession until all items have been paid for in full. In the event that the purchase prices are not paid within the prescribed time, the auctioneer shall have the right to re-sell such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser. Any shortfall from sale plus commission and expenses thereof shall be paid by the purchaser. 16. All costs and responsibilities of removal shall be borne by the purchaser/bidder within the time prescribed by the auctioneer. The auctioneer may require proof of adequate insurance from the purchaser. The purchaser/bidder herby indemnifies the auctioneer and the consignor(s) against any and all damages arising from the dismantling and removal of any lots. 17. Purchaser/bidder may contact Larry Collins of Collins Office Furniture at 843-224-0840 to arrange Packing and Shipping or a contractor of their choice. Purchaser/bidder shall have all items removed from auction site within 5 days after auction. 18. Any lots not removed within the prescribed time shall be subject to storage, moving, disposal and service charges at the sole risk and expense of the purchaser. All such lots shall be deemed as abandoned and shall be subject to resale for the recovery of such charges. The purchaser shall also be liable for any rent or damages sustained by the auctioneer for failure to remove any lot. 19. If for any reason, Seymour Antiques & Auctions is unable to deliver any or all of an awarded lot or title thereof, the sole liability of Seymour Antiques & Auctions shall be the refund of any monies paid on the lot. 20. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to remove their items within the prescribed time. 21. When bidding for an item that has quantity greater than 1, if you are successful, you will receive one of the grouping, not necessarily the first lot.
