From a mintage of 197 pieces, of which perhaps half or a few more still survive, this glittering Gem displays deep watery reflectivity in the fields, which is only partially diminished by a touch of milkiness over each side. A heavy die chip (as struck) is attached to the left side of the upright of the 1 in the denomination. This lovely specimen is free of troublesome hairlines or contact marks.
