<B>1903 1C PR66 Red PCGS.</B></I> David Bowers (1996) writes of the 1903 proof Indian Head cents that: "(The) portrait (is) lightly polished in the dies, not frosty. Feather tips usually weak." The current Red Premium Gem fits the first part of the profile, in that the coppery-gold surfaces reveal little contrast between the motifs and fields. The first two or the feather tips are somewhat soft, but the remainder are fairly sharp, as are the rest of the design elements. Immaculately preserved surfaces reveal no significant marks or spots.
