1903 $10 MS65 NGC. Despite a mintage of only 125,830 pieces, the 1903 eagle has little price pressure in most grades, since the issue has a high survival rate in Mint State. Still, it poses a significant challenge in better grades. As Garrett and Guth note, "MS-63 examples are scarce but not rare. Several dozen MS-64 examples have been certified, but only a tiny handful of these coins have earned the coveted MS-65 designation."
The present Gem is one of only nine in the combined certified population, with none finer (1/08). Its gleaming straw-gold fields and decisively struck devices are equally well-preserved. A marvelous exemplar that should appeal to the collector of high-end 20th century American gold.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
