1902-O $1 MS67 NGC. In discussing the 1902-O dollar, David Bowers (2005) cites Wayne Miller who wrote in 1982 that the issue is: "Typically among the poorest struck of the late New Orleans dollars. Most are flatly struck with horrible luster." Not so the Superb Gem we present in this lot! Essentially untoned surfaces yield dazzling luster and sharply struck design elements. While minor softness is noted in the hair at Liberty's ear, the eagle's breast feathers are well brought up. There are no mentionable marks to report. Census: 19 in 67, 0 finer (6/07).
From the Reuben Reinstein Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
