Featured in this lot are four Yellowstone National Park hand-tinted photographs from the Detroit Publishing Company circa 1902-1905. The company was started by publisher William A. Livingstone and photographer Edwin H. Husher in the late 19th century as the Detroit Photographic Company, it later became The Detroit Photochrom Company, then finally the Detroit Publishing Company. The first photo shows the Golden Gate in Yellowstone, the second photo shows the Great Fountain Geyser in Yellowstone, the third photo shows the Military Post and Giantess Group in Yellowstone and the final photo shows Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone. The photos all feature titles on the bottom in gold lettering as well as the copyrights reading, "Copyright By Detroit Publishing Co.". The photos are set on large black cardstock paper. The photos show good condition with wear and slight discoloration to a few but no signs of obvious damage. The photos measure 7" L x 9" W, while the entire piece measures 10 15/16" L x 13 13/16" W.
