1901-S $5 MS67 PCGS. Although this date is one of the most commonly seen issues in the Liberty half eagle series, it is seldom encountered in Gem quality, and Superb Gem specimens are extremely rare. In fact, PCGS has only certified one other submission at this grade level with none finer (1/07). This piece is sharply detailed with exquisite yellow-gold surfaces and soft, frosty luster. The obverse is essentially perfect and the reverse has only a few tiny flaws requiring magnification to see. Also on the reverse are several die cracks in addition to evidence of lapping, all indicative of a late die state.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
