<B>1901-S 25C VG8 NGC. CAC.</B></I> Legions of Barber quarter collectors will no doubt be after this coin, as a high-end VG8 example of the key Barber quarter. Many Barber quarter collectors (perhaps most?) can even cite the mintage figure, an astoundingly low 72,664 coins, off the top of their head. Most of L, part of I, part of T, and the Y are visible on this example. Most of the rims, including all of the obverse, are bold and well-separated, although some incipient merging is visible on the reverse above RICA. The grayish-gold surfaces show no singular signs of contact, although a light, undistracting scrape above Liberty's cap will serve as a pedigree marker.
