Finding an attractive AU representative of this popular VAM variety further confounds an already complicated search, as any 1901 Morgan dollar is elusive the closer one comes to the Mint State grades. This coin is well struck with considerable luster beneath thin aqua-gray and green-gold patina. Light wear appears at the highpoints, though this has little impact on the tailfeathers, which show this variety's famous and bold doubling.
