<B>1901 $5 MS67 NGC.</B></I> A common date and readily available in Uncirculated grades. However, the 1901, like any gold type coin, is only occasionally offered for sale in Superb condition. This, of course, is because the metal itself is so soft that it is easily abraded by even the slightest contact with other coins. Which means, high grade gold had to have been cared for even more carefully than other coinage metals. This piece has lovely, softly frosted mint luster and rich reddish color over each side. Fully struck as well.
