<B>1901 $5 MS67 NGC.</B></I> This is a superlative Mint State Liberty half eagle of a quality seldom exceeded. It is tied with several others for the finest example of the date that NGC has certified. In fact, only 16 pieces in the entire series of With Motto Liberty half eagles coined from 1866 to 1908 have been graded higher than this piece by NGC. A frosty example, this Superb Gem piece has rich orange-gold luster on both sides, accented by the slightest pink toning on the obverse. It is sharply struck with essentially full design features on each side.
