<B>1901 $20 PR61 Cameo ANACS.</B></I> 1901 was the last year that proof gold coinage was available with a frosted, two-toned cameo appearance. Beginning in 1902, proofs exhibit a satiny or semi-brilliant finish. Then the matte finish was in vogue from 1908 through 1915, followed by no proofs of any denomination until 1936. A surprisingly high number (39 pieces) of Cameo proofs have been designated by the two major services in a wide range of grades from PR61 through PR66. <BR> This is a deeply reflective, unmistakable proof striking. The devices show a significant overlay of mint frost which gives the coin its Cameo designation.
