This 1900s library table is special! It has a quarter-sawn oak top and sides and is in a tiger mission design. The mission style is apparent through the "open" look of the legs and stretchers, which appear on three sides. The front legs have a curvature which looks like that of the lyre-back chairs.

The top is 38 inches long and 21 inches wide. It is one-inch thick oak wood. The length of the table from one end drawer to the other is 36 inches, giving the top an overlap of 1 inch on each side. The back of the top section measures 7 3/4 inches. The table is 29 1/2 inches high.

The table has three drawers--the two end drawers are 9 inches wide, and the larger middle drawer is 13 1/4 inches wide. Each of the drawers has a 1 1/4-inch wood knob handle. The smaller drawers have dovetailing; all drawers are lined with veneer. The middle drawer has a 1 1/8-inch thick wood front: the end drawers have 1-inch thick wood fronts with quarter-sawn oak veneers.

The table is in very good condition overall. There is some buckling of the veneer inside the middle drawer and one of the end drawers which does not affect use or aesthetic appearance.

The table does not have the Stickley label, so I cannot ascertain that it is a Stickley table. Yet, due to the similarities of the design to other Stickley tables, I cannot say that it is not. However, it is made in the Stickley heydey and is reminiscent of other Stickley library tables, so I have called it a "Stickley era" library table.
