1900 Swiss "GL" Marked Prototype Style Reverse Toggle Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Spare Magazines and Numerous Luger Articles

This is a very nice custom assembled early DWM Model 1900 Swiss Contract Luger. These Lugers represent the very first commercial Luger contract pistols that were sold by the DWM factory and were purchased by Switzerland. This example has the early short frame, dished toggles with flat-spring, toggle lock, flat/recessed breech bolt, no stock lug, grip safety, early style, larger flat safety lever with coarse checkering, early narrow trigger, flat mainsprings and fast taper barrel that is 7 inches long. This example is engraved with a slightly smaller "Swiss Cross in a Sunburst" on top of the chamber area. The rest of the pistol is un numbered and unproofed on all the parts and has a small custom engraved intertwined "GL" (Spurious!) monogram on the rear toggle, so that it resembles an early preproduction/prototype Swiss Luger over seen by George Luger. This example still retains the original unmodified early "V" notch rear sight. Complete with three original (1 for the Luger and 2 spares), Swiss nickel plated magazines with the correct Swiss style and the small circular discs inset into each side of the base. This Luger is complete with a large binder with numerous articles by Charles Kenyon Jr. on various early Swiss and German prototype Luger pistols and their development.
