1900-O S$1 MS67 NGC. The 1900-O was considered to be a common date in the 1950s, and that was before thousands more coins emerged from Treasury Department vaults in the 1962-1964 era. Perhaps not surprisingly, most Mint State survivors in today's hobby are noticeably abraded with surface preservation that does not warrant more than an MS62 designation. Many 1900-O Dollars were obviously "beat up" when they were shipped north from the New Orleans Mint for permanent storage. With fully lustrous surfaces that are smooth from rim to rim, the present survivor was particularly fortunate in that it survived with little, if any evidence of coin-to-coin contact. Scintillating mint frost swirls around sharply impressed, untoned features. Population: 14 in 67, 0 finer (7/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
