<B>1900 50C MS65 NGC.</B></I> This high-mintage Barber half (4,762,000 circulation strikes) is, according to David Lawrence (1991) a common date, " ... typical of the early middle years of the series." Based on NGC/PCGS data, Mint State coins are somewhat available through MS64, but fall off in MS65 and above. The current Gem displays delicate apple-green, yellow-gold, gray, cobalt-blue, lilac, and violet coloration, that is slightly deeper on the reverse, resting upon outstanding luster. Close scrutiny with a loupe reveals fewer marks than what might be expected for the grade designation. A truly exceptional half!
