<B>1900 $2 1/2 PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS.</B></I> This is a stunning beauty with brilliant and highly lustrous yellow-gold devices that are surrounded by impeccable mirrored fields. Of the 205 proofs struck of this issue, no more than 100 are believed to be extant today in all grades. This example is tied with four others for the finest proof this date PCGS has ever certified (4/07), and it is exceeded by just five PR68 examples that that service has graded for the entire Liberty quarter eagle series. For the connoisseur of proof gold coinage, this is a piece to be appreciated. Auction appearances of proof 1900 quarter eagles are numerous, and we have no provenance available for this coin. However, we believe that it is one of the finest existing examples, even among those finer pieces certified by NGC.
