1900-1920s Makah Multi Color Lidded Basket. This Makah basket has the typical multi weave techniques using several kinds of grasses and other materials and has several different colors in the beautiful decorative patterns. There is a 1'' tear on the rim, and the lid is difficult to fit on the basket body now, but otherwise the basket is in good condition. It measures 2.5''H x 7.25''W. The Nootka and Makah are both northwest coast occupants. The Nootka occupy Vancouver Island, British Columbia and the Makah are on the northwest Washington mainland. Both groups have similar basketry techniques.

Items not paid for upon the non pay warning, will be relisted for resale within 10 days. You represent that you are over the age of 18 and can enter into legal contracts. Any Bidder that has never purchased from us, may be asked for credit card information prior to Approval To Bid.
*** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed. In the event of a tie between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute.
